He originally started out as a paralegal but his amazing dedication to the firm and to learning more, meant that he was promoted to a trainee solicitor and subsequently after qualifying has been a practicing solicitor for 18 months.

A man shot dead in Sheffield has been named locally as solicitor and dad-of-two Khuram Javed.

Police found Mr Javed with suspected gunshot wounds following reports of shots fired on Clough Road, off Bramall Lane, at around 9.40pm on Saturday.

Mr Javed, 30, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A police cordon was set up around the grounds of St Mary’s Church while a forensic tent was erected near the church.

Mr Javed worked as a solicitor at a law firm on London Road in the city after graduating with a degree in law from Sheffield Hallam University and a legal practice qualification from the University of Sheffield.

Friends of Mr Javed paid tribute online.

The Justice for All People campaign posted on Facebook: “It is with great sadness to Announce the tragic death of Khuram Javed son of Javed Khan Family and friends have taken to social media to express their grief on the tragic passing of the University of Sheffield law graduate, who worked as a solicitor at a local law firm on London Road.”

Allama Iqbal Sunday Cricket League posted: “It is with great sadness to inform you that our beloved brother Khuram Javed has returned to Allah…

“Can you please make dua (a prayer) that Allah grants Khuram janat al firdos (the highest paradise) and gives his family sabr (patience).”

One mourner posted: “Very sad news about the death of Khuram Javed… at such [a] young [age] in such tragic circumstances. I have known him from such [a] young age and I can’t compliment him enough – one of the best kids I have known all my life.”

A fundraiser for his funeral and family has been launched on GoFundMe.

The fundraising page, posted by Kash Khan, says: Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones in this difficult time. Words can’t express the sorrow at [the] loss of such a wonderful young man’s life…

“He has left behind two beautiful children…

“Please have the time to donate any amount big or small. Donations will 100% go towards funeral costs and to help Khuram’s family in these tragic times.”
